Registration for the Fernie Half Marathon is in full swing as runners of all ages are training on the trails around Fernie. Fall in the Elk Valley is beautiful and what better way to end your running season with a race through Fernie in all its fall colours!
This year's Fernie Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday Oct. 4 and will again be a scenic All-Trail Course through the community. 2008 was the first time the course was entirely on trail and organizers have promised the same awesome views with this year's race.

Congratulations to all the runners in this year's race. The weather forced an early morning course change but all the racers handled the changes and the skies cleared just in time for the run!

Next year promises to be bigger and better. In the planning stages- A Runner's Expo and Race Package pick up the day before the race. Watch the website for updated information.

Fernie Half Marathon is excited to introduce an all trail and off road half marathon for 2008.

Starting 2008, the race will be run on dirt roads, mountain bike and hiking trails. No more pounding of legs on hard ashphalt.
