Thanks to everyone who participated in the 2011 Fernie Half Marathon and a huge Thank You to all our volunteers and sponsors who helped host the event. A special Thanks to all the students, parents and teachers from The Fernie Academy who provided the bulk of our manpower on race day.

2012 Online Registration will open October 30, 2011 - it's never too early to mark this great race on your running calendar. Look forward to seeing you all again next year!

Please contact info@ferniehalfmarathon.com if you or your team was not included in the 2011 FHM Race Timing Results found at www.winningtime.ca. Some timing chips accidentally crossed the Finish Mat more than once and it caused a number of competitor times to be altered. If you are interested in your times and were not included in the Race Results there is a manual back-up system which can assess your placing, though does not pinpoint exact times. Thank you for your patience.

Just wanted to give a huge Thank-You to all the wonderful volunteers and organizers today!
 The smiling faces and encouragement from everyone involved, gave the day an  incredible energy that will not be forgotten.  There were so many involved,  doing numerous amounts of work, to make this day truly wonderful!  This was  my first Half-Marathon today, and am looking forward to running it again next  year!

Ryan Cain was joined by his little girl at the finish line to log the fastest time of 1:19:29 Sunday and almost 350 braved Morgan's Misery through the rain during this year's Fernie Half Marathon.

Ryan and his wife Laura, from Cranbrook BC, took the men's and women's divisions in the race which saw every kind of weather from pouring rain to beautiful sunny skies. Laura's time was 1:37:43.

There is still time to register for the Fernie Half Marathon but you now have to do it in-person. We will be at the Park Place Lodge in Fernie Saturday from noon - 4 pm to accept Late Registration and we will still be accepting registrations at 9 am at the Registration Tent at the Start/Finish area in the Fernie Annex Park. Please find the Registration Tent located near the Start line. Race Weekend details follow:

The Park Place Lodge is proud to be an official sponsor and

preferred lodging facility of the 2011 Fernie Half Marathon.

We are offering preferred rates for marathon participants starting at $94.00 per night (plus applicable tax) for all of our standard and deluxe balcony units during the period of Friday, September 30 to Sunday, October 2, 2011.

You can still register online for the Fernie Half Marathon until Thursday September 29 and in-person race morning from 8:30-9 a.m. Follow the links to the online registration found in the Registration tab above. The Fernie Half Marathon t-shirt is no longer available with your registration. Limited numbers of t-shirts will be available at additional cost at Registration Package pick-up on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Park Place Lodge from noon - 4 p.m.

Good news from our FHM shirt supplier! We have been able to extend our deadline for registration as they are able to ship the shirts at a later date! But Tuesday September 20 is the absolute deadline for Registration including our coveted FHM T-shirt. We will be still accepting registration until 9 am the day of the race but your Race Package will not include a 2011 shirt. See you in October!

Race Day promises to be a full meal deal! From breakfast to lunch to post-race snacks Fernie Half Marathon organizers have it all lined up.

Our Breakfast Nook - this concession will be feeding the racers and their support crews hot oatmeal, breakfast pastries, coffee and hot chocolate. The perfect start to the day. Plenty of hot coffee to keep the watchers warm in the morning.

The BBQ Hut - this luncheon tent will feature the best of post-run fare - a range of Spolumbo sausage choices on the Loaf Bakery buns, home-made chili, drinks, Loaf desserts and more.

The Fernie Half Marathon is now accepting participants interested in walking 10 kilometres of the course.
